Our Father, Our Heroes

World’s Greatest Dads

Third Sunday of the Month is the day we celebrate the day of the worlds greatest people – our dads. This is the time that we honor them for all the hardships they endure to rear us the best that they can be turning nights into days and days into nights.

I’ve read a certain story regarding how Father’s Day came to be. It was first celebrated by a certain person for understanding and appreciating the works their dad made after their mom passed away. It was indeed an honorable act being able to show your appreciation of the efforts your dad has made.

Honestly, I’m not that too much of a person that shows my emotions. If there’s one thing that I’m afraid to show, it’s always been my feelings. For me, showing such make a person weak… but I am wrong.

To all the Father’s out there, we thank you for being there. For the times that you’d prefer to just drink water so that you can feed us. For going way beyond and for being our providers. Thank’s for everything! It’s all because of you, whatever you did that made us what we are now.

Happy Father’s Day!

We salute you for just being who you are… We salute and thank you for being our dads. We are proud to tell that world that you are our Father!

Happy Father’s Day to all of you!

Sexual Orientation and Religion

During the past months, I’ve been reading quite a lot of fuzz about gay people, legalizing gay marriage and religious views regarding the matter. To be honest, I don’t really give a damn to what people has to say.

Being called gay is not actually an issue. However you call us, it’s still the same. We are just as human as what “straight” people would say. We are not clothes so labels are not of any importance at all.

I was just browsing my facebook account when I saw someone posting a note regarding Many Pacquiao quoting gay men should burn in hell or whatever. I did not pay attention to whatever he has to say. I never liked him anyway. What I actually took notice of is the exchange of ideas on that particular post.

It’s so funny to hear that a lot of people would say that all gay people will burn in hell. They talk about gay people not at peace with God and even stating the fact that gay people are irresponsible individuals wanting to avoid the responsibility of rearing a child.

For me, the arguments stated by those close-minded fools is really annoying. They talked about us being sinners like they have never sinned before. They called us irresponsible like they are the most perfect individuals that ever existed on the planet. And they talked about being gay as if it’s a form of a contagious disease that needs to be avoided.

My take on this matter is just simple:

First: Being gay is not a disease. It’s a way of life. It’s an individual choice. A “straight” guy won’t become gay because of their constant exposure with gay men. Whoever thought about this shows how ignorant that individual is.

Second: Yes we are sinners! But it’s not because we are gay but rather because we are human. Being “straight” doesn’t mean that you are free of any sin. It’s not even a valid “passport” to heaven. We believe in God, our creator and we are at peace with the Lord.

Third: We are not irresponsible people. You don’t even know that weight that most gay people carry around. You don’t know anything about us, so quit judging us.

Lastly, if we go to hell then see you at the party…

Cashless Payment with Rebates

Happy Plus Card

Happy Plus Card

It is a fact that everyone lives a fast-paced life. It is a fact that everyone one can see. Fast foods chains flourished and has been a constant part of every Filipino’s lives. It has become almost like a necessity for it helps us keep up with the demands in life and work.

Jollibee, ChowKing, Red Ribbon and Greenwich are part of the more popular names in the fast food industry. They have been in the country and even outside the country (for Jollibee) to serve the Filipino palate.

Personally, I am not fond of these fast food chains simply because I still prefer home-cooked meals. Although it takes a lot of time but the satisfaction of eating a home-cooked meal still weighs more to me. Although I eat at these chains but you can never call me a frequent customer.

However, even if I’m not a frequent fast food visitor, I still find HAPPY PLUS very satisfying. This card offers you cashless transactions and a P1 rebate for every P50 worth of food purchase. Happy Plus also gives discount on some food purchases.

The card itself costs P100 and you need to pay a minimum of P100 for the load. What you’ll be getting will be a re loadable plastic card and discount coupons from the participating stores. You get a total of P250 discount coupon which you can use automatically. The P1 rebate for every P50 purchase for me is an added discount since you can use it to pay for your food purchases as well. Unfortunately though, this is just available here in Metro Manila.

For some, gettingĀ  discount cards may not be ok but once you get a hold of these, you will see it’s real value. Trust me, I’m not a believer myself. But the moment I got my own card and was able to save a couple of bucks changed my point of view.

So what are you waiting now? Get the card and enjoy getting the discounts.
